A cross-regional terminal office of Shanghai's Hongqiao International Airport will start test operations in Taicang, Jiangsu province, on Feb 10.

It is located inside the Taicang Coach Station complex and will provide "one-stop" service including flight information, ticket booking, check-in and shuttle bus services to the airport for passengers. Two buses will serve daily shuttle services, eight times a day between 6 am and 6 pm. Tickets will cost 35 yuan ($5.67) per person.

Taicang has become an important center for foreign companies, making convenient and accessible airport travel an important requirement for the city. That increasing number of residents travel around creates more demand for better facilities and convenience. Taicang residents pay over 100 million yuan ($16.20 million) for air travel per year.

The Taicang airport terminal office, as an extension service facility for Hongqiao airport, will better link Taicang with Shanghai and contribute to the city's tourism and economy.

Additionally, Taicang plans to launch a tourism route to the Shanghai Disney Park, after it opens, in a bid for the city to transform itself into a bridge that connects the park with the northern areas of Jiangsu.
