The fourth session of the 15th Taicang People's Congress opened in Taicang, Jiangsu province, on Feb 10, to discuss the city's economic report and accomplishments last year as well as to draw out future plans.

During the conference, the participants put forward a series of suggestions, involving innovative development of the economy; how to attract skilled professionals; boosting local enterprises' growth by examining Germany-based companies' experience; further development of Taicang Port; improving the ecological environment and adding more bus routes to facilitate locals' travel needs.

In addition, the participants set out the plan for 2015, such as improving the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) by 8 percent, increasing public finance budgetary revenues by 8 percent and investing 50 billion yuan ($8.12 billion) on fixed assets.
