Taicang to add more green land

The city of Taicang in Jiangsu province plans to increase its green land area by another 2,000 mu (133.33 hectares) in 2015. To this end, the city will focus on constructing five green water corridors and four green roads as well as ecological protection of Jincang Lake, the Taicang Daily reported on March 10.

In recent years, Taicang has attached great importance to improving living environment and the city's general ecology. In 2014, the city's green coverage reached 177,500 mu (11,833.33 hectares) with a green coverage ratio of 18.5 percent.

In 2015, Taicang is to strive to protect land resources, and focus more on improving greening quality.
