The tourism bureau in Taicang - a county-level city in Suzhou, Jiangsu province - has launched a WeChat account under the name "Taicang Holiday", in a bid to promote the city's tourism industry.

The account integrates the resources of hotels, scenic spots and factory stores to help them boost mutual development. On April 2, 11 factory stores, 14 hotels and five scenic spots signed agreements to become the first group of members to be involved with "Taicang Holiday".

By combining the resources of the "Taichang Holiday" members, the tourism bureau has been able to distribute a number of special offers via WeChat. For example, the hotels offer brief introductions and show the QR codes of nearby factory stores and scenic spots. Guests are able to scan the QR codes to receive coupons and enjoy discount while visiting local stores and scenic spots.

The account will be promoted in other county-level cities in Suzhou, as well as in Wuxi and Shanghai.
