Taicang welcomes new German plant

EMAG GmbH & Co. KG, a Germany-based manufacturing solution suppliers of precision metal components, announced the commencement of operations for its new plant in Taicang, Jiangsu province at the EMAG 7th Technology Expo on Dec 7.

The new facility brings the number of the German company's plants in Taicang to three.

“In a response to increasing customer requirements, we decided to enlarge the scale of our plants in Taicang,” said Uwe Ronde, chief product officer of EMAG and chief executive officer of the German company in China, at the launch ceremony.

The 10,000-square meter plant is situated at the China-Germany Advanced Manufacturing Technology Innovation Park and is double the size of previous plants.

In addition to manufacturing, the plant will also be used for pre-sale services, marketing, after-sales services and technical support.

EMAG has operated in China since 2003 and after 15 years of development, it has become one of the most important players in the metal-process industry in China.

In recent years, the German company has maintained an average growth rate of more than 30 percent in China, where the company sold roughly $214 million worth of products this year.

Founded in 1867, EMAG is the world's most important manufacturer of computer numerical control (CNC) vertical turning machines and supplies various machine tools and manufacturing systems of precision metal components.
