CHIRON Group opens new facility in Taicang

Germany-based CHIRON Group opened a future factory in Taicang, Jiangsu province on May 28.

With an investment of €1.5 million ($1.67 million), the new facility covers an area of 36,000 square meters.

The first phase of the Taicang facility has been put into service with four production lines capable of manufacturing 200 automated vertical machining centers per year.

“Machining centers” refers to supermatic multi-function machine tools with a tool house and automatic tool changers.

In addition, the Taicang Future Factory houses an exhibition hall to showcase its latest technologies and products to Chinese customers.

CHIRON Group, headquartered in Tuttlingen, is a global company specializing in computer-numeric-controlled vertical machining and turning centers with production and development facilities on four continents. In 2018, the Group achieved sales of about €498 million with around 2,100 employees.
