Two maker spaces, Innovax Hub, as well as Zhongke Intelligent Technology and Innovation Center, in Taicang, a county level city of Suzhou, East China's Jiangsu province, were recently included on the list of incubators for technological startups in Suzhou.

Innovax Hub is a platform set up by UK-based Talent Tech-Nolgy in Taicang. It is dedicated to promoting technical and cultural exchanges between China and the UK, as well as providing services for high-caliber skilled workers from overseas and for technological projects.

The hub, which covers an area of 1,006 square meters, has attracted 20 companies and project teams. Among these projects, 14 have been settled and evolved into companies in Taicang.

Zhongke Intelligent Technology and Innovation Center, with its advantages in electronic information, artificial intelligence, and big data technology empowered by the Taicang branch of the Computing Technology Institute of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, specializes in introducing skilled workers and companies in AI, blockchain, big data, as well as smart manufacturing to Taicang.

The center has set up a fund to offer advisory and financing services for startups. To date, five startups have received financial help from the fund. Thanks to the fund, a company found a financial institute willing to extend them financial help.

As of February, the center had introduced 24 high-tech firms and 12 research teams. All entrepreneurs introduced by the center hold master's degrees.

Taicang is now home to two national maker spaces, 14 provincial-level maker spaces, and 15 city-level maker spaces. They cover a combined area of 50,000 square meters.
