Taicang seeks more cooperation with British companies

Government officials of Taicang, Jiangsu province visited the British Consulate-General Shanghai and the China-Britain Business Council in Shanghai on Sept 8.

Hu Weijiang, deputy Party secretary of Taicang, talked with representatives of British companies who have launched projects in Taicang. Representatives of Reckitt Benckiser said that the city's business environment satisfies their staff members.

Chris Wood, consul-general of the British Consulate-General Shanghai, and his team discussed working with Taicang in the biological medicine industry, as well as in incubating small and medium-sized enterprises.

At a seminar hosted by the China-Britain Business Council, British companies shared their development status in Taicang. To date, the city is home to 16 British companies, attracting about $602 million in investment.
