Taicang receives 300,000 tourists for National Day holiday

Taicang in Suzhou, Jiangsu province, received 300,000 tourists over the recent seven-day National Day holiday, statistics from the county-level city's culture, radio, TV, and tourism bureau showed.

The visitors helped generate a tourism revenue of over 14 million yuan ($2.17 million).

"The National Day holiday box office has exceeded last year's," said a staff member of the Taicang Wanda Plaza. "From Oct 1 to 6, our box-office receipts totaled 1.47 million yuan, which was the highest among more than 180 cinemas in Suzhou."

"The war epic The Battle at Lake Changjin was a favorite among audiences in Taicang," he added.
