Seven companies in Taicang, East China's Jiangsu province, were recently recognized as the ninth batch of headquarters companies, local media reported Feb 23.

Their business are mainly related to biomedicine, manufacturing, architecture, and trade logistics.

Connect Biopharma has developed an online system that enables its employees to work at home. A representative of the company said the system has helped them to achieve work continuity despite the latest COVID-19 outbreak in Suzhou.

Connect Biopharma has been labelled a "unicorn company" by Suzhou authorities for two years running. Last year, the company went public in the United States.

Taicang is currently home to 40 headquarters companies. In 2021, the city's headquarters companies generated 120 billion yuan ($19 billion) in business revenue.
