Some private companies' exports are still growing despite the COVID-19 outbreak, local media reported on May 19.

"From January to April, our exports were valued at $40.87 million, up 540 percent year-on-year," said Jiang Rong, a staff member of Taicang T&W Electronics Co.

He attributed the growth to their status as an Authorized Economic Operator (AEO) recognized by Taicang Customs.

The titles were initiated by the World Customs Organization to benefit companies who obey laws and regulations and have good credits. To date, AEOs recognized by China customs can enjoy preferential policies in 48 countries and countries.

According to Taicang Customs, they plan to include more private companies to the list of AEOs.
