Taicang steps up efforts in investment attraction

Taicang, a county-level city in East China's Jiangsu province has been making efforts to attract investment to the city.

To date, the city has introduced a large number of high-quality investments, including a dental device manufacturing base funded by South Korean company Ray Co., Ltd, and an auto cushioning part production base invested by US-based auto spare parts manufacturer Tenneco.

From January to April, 70 projects have been set up in Taicang, up 20.7 percent year-on-year. Each of these projects have a registered capital of at least 20 million yuan ($3 million). As of the end of April, 285 projects, each with a registered capital of at least 20 million yuan, were in the negotiation phase.

Looking ahead, the local government will focus on attracting investments for fields including high-end equipment manufacturing, aviation, aerospace and bio-medicine as well as advancing its cooperation with Germany, said a local official responsible for investments.
