Taicang launches venture week

Taicang, a county-level city in East China's Jiangsu province, held an opening ceremony for its venture week on July 11.

The venture week is aimed at attracting more top talents to the city.

The Taicang venue is an important part of the 14th Suzhou Venture Week for International Elites, during which three platforms focused on bringing in high-caliber talents were inaugurated.

During the opening ceremony, local authorities shared the achievements made in the digitalization of talent services. The city also issued new policies to provide support for its strategic industries and technology innovation.

In addition, individuals who have made significant contributions to the city's technology innovation efforts were awarded at the ceremony.

Agreements to set up 40 high-quality projects with a total investment of over 2.2 billion yuan ($327 million) were signed during the ceremony. These projects will be managed by more than 500 outstanding talents who hold master's degrees or above, and of whom over 50 percent have studied abroad.
