Taicang's Huangjing town included on national list

Huangjing town in Taicang, a county-level city in East China's Jiangsu province, has been listed among the top national agricultural towns, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs announced on Aug 25.
The town has built a modern agricultural park with tens of thousands of mu of high-standard farmland, mainly growing rice and vegetables.
The town invested nearly 40 million yuan ($5.48 million) in 2019 to build the city's largest vegetable base - the modern agricultural park, which focuses on building an intelligent vegetable industrial chain that encompasses mechanized cultivation, cold chain logistics, and the recycling of residual vegetables.

The town's agricultural output amounted to 529 million yuan in 2022.
Authorities have also been working to advance the in-depth integration of agriculture, culture and tourism, and have rolled out tours featuring idyllic sightseeing, fruit and vegetable picking, red tourism and farming experience.
