Taicang, a county-level city in East China's Jiangsu province, held a high-quality all-for-one tourism development conference on Oct 20.

The conference was aimed at advancing in-depth integration of culture and tourism.

Construction of 13 projects started and 11 projects were put into operation at the conference, which totaled an investment of 3.79 billion yuan ($518.35 million).

Agreements for 15 projects with a combined investment of 4.92 billion yuan were signed.

Wang Xiangyuan, Party secretary of Taicang, delivered a speech at the conference, noting that the city has in recent years been ramping up efforts to advance integration of agriculture, culture and tourism, with a series of tourist projects such as Rothenburg Street, Alps Snow Live, the largest ski resort in eastern China, and the Line Friends camping site having been set up.

Wang added that Taicang will make full use of its natural resources and geographical location to build itself into a leisure tourism destination in the Yangtze River Delta region.

During the event, authorities also issued letters of appointment to counselors for the culture and tourism industry, released an action plan to bolster tourism, and unveiled a series of financial products.
