In celebration of the 10th anniversary of the Belt and Road Initiative, the 2023 "Hi Jiangsu" event took foreign press on a journey through Taicang, Jiangsu.

Taicang's modern, bustling ports, including the 22nd largest container port globally, left a profound impression on the international journalists. Pham Thu Thuy from Vietnam remarked, "This is my first time in Taicang, and the development here exceeds my expectations."

The port's strategic location has made it a vital hub for trade between the Yangtze River Delta and countries participating in the BRI, facilitating global trade and opening new doors for "made in Jiangsu" and "manufactured in Taicang."

The delegation of foreign press representatives also explored Zheng He Park, where they learned about the legendary Zheng He and his historic voyages to the world. Correspondent from Thailand said that through the BRI, more friendships and stories are continuously being written.

With a rich history of sea exploration, Taicang embodies the spirit of Zheng He and has made contributions to the development of the BRI. It has established economic and trade relations with over 180 countries and regions, with foreign trade totaling 40.87 billion yuan ($5.58 billion) last year, a growth of 5.8 percent.
