Taicang sees new provincial cultural exchange base for overseas Chinese

The Wuyang traditional stringed and woodwind instruments orchestra, based at the Jiangnan traditional stringed and woodwind instruments hall in Taicang, Suzhou, has been selected as a provincial-level cultural exchange base for overseas Chinese for 2023.

Taicang, a city located in Jiangsu, is now home to four provincial-level cultural exchange bases for overseas Chinese.

Founded in 2007, the Wuyang orchestra has been recognized as a Jiangsu 4A-level social organization, Jiangsu featured cultural team and Jiangsu outstanding mass art team. The orchestra has showcased its talents in cities such as Beijing, Nanjing, Shanghai, and Suzhou. Additionally, it has embarked on international tours to countries such as Germany, the United Kindom, France, and Italy, and has won top honors in various competitions worldwide.

The Jiangnan traditional stringed and woodwind instruments hall is located on Xinhua West Road and covers an area of 770 square meters.

As the largest facility of its kind in the Yangtze River Delta region, the hall serves as a comprehensive venue dedicated to exhibitions, performances, teaching, and visits, focusing on the promotion and preservation of traditional stringed and woodwind instrument culture.
