On July 11, Wang Xiangyuan, Party secretary of Taicang, a county-level city in Suzhou, East China's Jiangsu province, met with Aisha Barry, president of the Personal Safety Division of the United States-based industrial conglomerate 3M to strengthen friendly exchanges and collaboration.

Wang briefed Barry on Taicang's economic and social development, explaining that Taicang is a highly open and livable city near Shanghai, where a large number of foreign enterprises are located. For years, the city has been ramping up efforts to improve the business climate for foreign companies.

Many Taicang enterprises have benefited from 3M's products and services. Wang added that further cooperation with 3M is welcomed in areas such as worker safety and safety training in dual vocational education.

Barry thanked Taicang for its support and introduced 3M's development planning in security protection products. She said that the city is a good place to invest and do business and that 3M will actively explore further opportunities to collaborate with Taicang in safety training, helping more enterprises achieve sustainable safety development.

3M is a multinational conglomerate, ranking 443rd in the Fortune Global 500 in 2023. The Personal Safety Division of 3M Company, as a global leader in occupational health, has served multiple enterprises in Taicang, including Schaeffler, Nine Dragons Paper, Honda, and Sinochem Lantian, offering safe, professional, and innovative protective products, as well as expert consultation and solutions in areas such as respiratory protection, hearing protection, welding protection, and more.

Taicang is also home to one of 3M's production bases in China, namely Winterthur Technology (Taicang). In the first half of this year, the company achieved a production value of 57 million yuan ($7.85 million).
