A mini Spring Festival gala for international students was held at Nantong Vocational University (NVU) on Jan 31, with more than 60 students from Namibia, Angola and Nigeria in attendance.

An assortment of traditional Chinese and Western foods were laid out for the event, with students also learning how to write Spring Festival couplets and make chuanghua –– paper cuttings for window decorations.

In recent years, the school has established partnerships with many educational institutes in countries involved in the Belt and Road Initiative. It has admitted 210 international students since 2015, with students studying subjects such as gardening, e-commerce and computer technology.
