Rugao promotes investment in Shanghai

Rugao, a county-level city in Nantong, East China's Jiangsu province, hosted an investment environment promotion conference in Shanghai, on June 26, in a bid to attract investment.

It proved to be a success, where a total of 58 projects valued at 26.9 billion yuan ($3.93 billion) were signed, including 41 industrial cooperation projects and 17 ones introducing highly-skilled professionals.

People attending the event included Wang Zhixiong, chairman of Shanghai association of industry and commerce, Shi Dengding, vice-chairman of the association, Zhang Jianhua, Party chief of Rugao, and He Yijun, mayor of Rugao, as well as representatives from companies in Shanghai and surrounding areas.

Addressing the conference, Zhang Jianhua said that Rugao is currently accelerating development of its industries such as healthcare and water transport, and has established close ties with companies in Shanghai.

The Party chief briefed Rugao's key projects that received investment from Shanghai companies and their development, pointing out that Rugao boasts advantages such as convenient transportation, affordable land resources, and lower business costs compared to Shanghai.

A promotional video of Rugao was also showcased during the event, helping attendees learn more about the city.

Shi Dengding also addressed the meeting, encouraging companies to seize opportunities and establish cooperation with Rugao city in fields like high-tech industry and tourism sector.

Many attendees showed interest to put investment in Rugao and cooperate with local enterprises.
