A depot for Nantong metro line 1 will be constructed in Tongzhou district, according to an announcement by the Nantong Municipal Bureau of Natural Resources and Planning.

A metro depot for metro trains is often referred to as a "4S store" for vehicles, and serves as a sort of home station for metro trains. Trains on metro line 1 will be able to receive maintenance services and park at the depot.

The depot is expected to cover an area of 35.76 hectares and consists of an arrangement area, a maintenance area, comprehensive buildings, a car wash area, and a power substation.
