Two centers, one for production and another for research in coatings and flexible materials, will be established in the Nantong High-tech Industrial Development Zone in Tongzhou district, Nantong, Jiangsu province.

The project is controlled by Beijing OriginWater Technology Co (BOW), a high-tech company focusing on membrane materials, equipment and technologies. It has become a world-class membrane equipment producer and provider.

The production center is expected to receive a total of 2 billion yuan ($285.81 million) in investment and to be built as a world-class source of optical membranes.

The first phase of the whole project is planned to begin in early 2020 and its annual taxable sales revenue based on the designed output has an estimated potential of 600 million yuan.

Yuan Shengyao, chairman of BOW, said that the company decided to set up the centers in Nantong High-tech Industrial Development Zone because they were deeply impressed by the strategic view and efficient services of the Tongzhou government.

Chen Yonghong, secretary of the Tongzhou district Party committee, said the operation of the centers will strengthen the development of industrial chains in the district. Detailed plans will be made to ensure the centers' successful settlement.
