Chongchuan district in Nantong, Jiangsu province, has been preparing for the reopening of local schools, seeking to guarantee the safety of students and teachers.

According to deputy director of the district's center for disease control and prevention, free nucleic acid tests are being provided to students and their family members who return to Nantong from Hubei province.

Schools are required to reopen in waves. Online training sessions were organized for managers and school doctors at 39 primary and secondary schools, as well as 78 kindergartens around the district, offering guidance on disinfection at schools and health education.

Experts from the Nantong municipal center for disease control and prevention were also invited to give on-site guidance.

Six groups of officials were dispatched from the district's bureau of education and sports, health committee, public security bureau, as well as bureau of market supervision and administration, to investigate whether local schools have carried out proper protective measures.

Schools are also required to organize drills to ensure that students can enter and exit the school quickly and orderly and avoid gatherings.

Xue Ping, director of the district's health committee, said that the committee will help local schools optimize their dining process, disinfect major public areas and deal with emergency situations.
