The 127th China Import and Export Fair, popularly known as the Canton Fair, kicked off online on June 15 and ended on June 24. A total of 68 enterprises from Nantong's Tongzhou district participated in the fair.

The Tongzhou district government helped exhibitors prepare for attending the fair and provided timely and accurate guidance to raise their confidence. It also promoted knowledge about preventing online fraud through QQ groups, WeChat groups and other channels, and helped companies and individuals protect intellectual property rights.

Tongzhou's commerce department provided enterprises with assistance in mastering skills to join in online exhibitions and arranged staff to be on duty 24 hours, online and on site.

During the Canton Fair, Zhang Min, foreign trade manager of Joes Home, almost had to introduce their products in English through livestreaming. Joes Home has taken part in the fair for 10 years, but this was its first online fair. Zhang said that online interconnection will involve more participants, which means more customers and more potential business opportunities for enterprises.

According to Yan Weihua, deputy director of the Tongzhou commerce bureau, the district will set up platforms to promote and implement supporting policies in cross-border e-commerce and market purchasing to stabilize foreign trade development in Tongzhou.
