With planned investment of nearly 34 billion yuan ($4.86 billion), work on 15 industrial projects in Nantong's Tongzhou district started on July 6, including three one-billion-yuan projects and covering multiple fields such as new-generation information technology and intelligent equipment.

The main venue for the project launching ceremony was located at the site of the third phase of Hengli (Nantong) industrial park in Wujie town. Chen Yonghong and Wang Shaoyong, Tongzhou district's Party secretary and acting head, attended the ceremony.

With investment of 30 billion yuan, the third phase of Hengli industrial park is designed to have an annual production capacity of 1.8 million tons of green multifunction new textile materials and 650,000 tons of polyester elasticized yarn. It will be equipped with supporting facilities such as substations specifically for newly-built enterprises, an energy integrated power center and a research and development center.

Hengli (Nantong) industrial park will be capable of producing three million tons of high-level textile products and 1.05 million tons of polyester elasticized yarn annually. With estimated annual sales revenue of 50 billion yuan, the park will become a powerful boost to the construction of a strong and rich Tongzhou, Liu Dunlei, general manager of Hengli industrial park, said.

Chen, on behalf of the district government, congratulated those involved in starting the projects. He pointed out that the investment reflected Hengli Group's foresight and recognition of Tongzhou's development prospects. The park will boost the transformation and upgrading of the high-end textile industry in Tongzhou district.

Chen also said that the district's relevant departments and units should adhere to the project-oriented service concept, focus on leading and emerging industries, and accelerate the recruitment of symbolic and leading projects.
