In a bid to promote the development of the credit system in rural areas and broaden the ways for farmers to increase income, Tongzhou district in Nantong has implemented a project to achieve full coverage of whole-village credit access.

According to the Tongzhou district financial bureau, by the end of July, the number of households receiving credit reached 27,200, with an amount of nearly 2.5 billion yuan ($357.7 million).

With creative thinking, Tongzhou district has rolled out service modes that combine whole-village credit access with Party construction and a beneficial effect on enterprises, and has spared no effort in promoting the realization of full coverage of whole-village credit.

Lu Yusheng, from Jiba village in Pingchao town, is one of the first people to benefit from inclusive financing. After a mobilization meeting, Lu opened the business "Yidaitong" and rapidly obtained credit of 200,000 yuan.

"The fund was so timely to solve our financial problem," Lu said. The mold factory Lu works in is preparing to purchase equipment to expand production. "The whole-village credit granting brought timely help."

The financial bureau in Tongzhou district will explore a standardized and replicable whole-village credit granting promotion mode, effectively crack the information asymmetry between farmers and financial institutions and ensure that financial support is provided for rural revitalization.
