After nearly one year of preparation and construction, the Tongzhou district human resources market started operating on Jan 8, according to officials in Tongzhou district, in Nantong city in East China's Jiangsu province.

Located in the Jianghai Smart Park in the Nantong National High-tech Industrial Development Zone, the new market is a people-oriented project that was funded and established by the district government.

It is designed to ease structural employment conditions and provide human resources and a demand platform for employers and job seekers in the district.

Its opening marks a new stage for human resources development and public services in the area.

Built at a cost of 2.2 million yuan ($340,499), work began on the 1,200-square-meter market in August 2020. The new facility comprises four areas – for recruitment services, self-service, information and office services.

The completed human resources market will take charge of organizing, conducting and operating online and offline job fairs.

It will be involved in the collection, sorting and release of business employment information, data, statistics and analysis of human resources supply and demand in the district.

In addition, it will provide workers with guidance on career planning and in starting up their own businesses.

The market comes well equipped with high-tech facilities, including big data technology, to provide job seekers with high-quality information services.

There are 88 fixed booths in the recruitment hall, uniformly equipped with tablet computers and LCD screens, to provide more efficient and convenient technical support for corporate recruitment.

In addition, eight self-service all-in-one machines and six information display machines have been installed in the lobby to help job-seekers deliver resumes efficiently and receive the latest recruitment information.
