Seven Indonesians working at Nantong-based Jiangsu Lianfa Group Co Ltd decided to stay in the city for the upcoming Chinese New Year, local media reported on Jan 27.

The seven expats have been working as interns at Lianfa even since they graduated from Yangzhou Vocational University last year. They plan to transfer to Lianfa's Indonesian branch once it begins operating.

To ensure them a happy and unforgettable Spring Festival, Lianfa started making plans two months ago.

According to Yao Meiqin, chairwoman of the Lianfa Textile Association, the seven expats will be invited to spend Chinese New Year's Eve with other employees who stay in Nantong for the festival.

They will put up chunlian, or spring couplets, learn how to make dumplings, and eat New Year's Eve dinner altogether.

In recent years, Lianfa has been participating in the Belt and Road Initiative and has invested in countries involved in the initiative. The group has also cultivated talent from these countries who are not only skilled at their job, but also proficient in Chinese.
