​Haimen incomes increase in 2021

The per capita disposable income of residents in Haimen district, Nantong, East China's Jiangsu province, reached 47,808 yuan ($7,574.05) in 2021, up 10.2 percent year-on-year, according to the Haimen investigation team of the National Bureau of Statistics.

In 2021, the disposable income of Haimen's urban residents was 59,183 yuan, an increase of 9 percent year-on-year, and it is expected to reach 64,782 yuan in 2022. The disposable income of rural residents was 32,307 yuan, up 11.8 percent year-on-year, and it is expected to reach 35,286 yuan in 2022.

In addition, the ratio of urban to rural incomes in Haimen has shown a decreasing trend year after year, narrowing to 1.83 in 2021.

The per capita consumption expenditure of Haimen residents was 30,532 yuan, up 20.4 percent year-on-year, among which the per capita consumption expenditure of urban residents was 36,585 yuan, up 19.2 percent year-on-year, and that of rural residents was 22,283.3 yuan, up 22 percent year-on-year.

Haimen's Engel coefficient dropped from 29.2 percent in 2020 to 27.7 percent in 2021, showing an improvement in living standards.
