A commencement ceremony for major projects breaking ground in the first quarter of 2022 was held on March 4 in Chuanjiang town – located in Tongzhou district of Nantong city, in East China's Jiangsu province.

It is expected that 33 projects costing a combined 14.8 billion yuan ($2.34 billion) will start construction in Q1, a dozen of which are worth over 500 million yuan each.

The Tangzheng digital textile industrial park, being funded by Nantong Tangzheng Textile Technology Co Ltd, kicked off construction on March 4. The company was formerly a traditional textile operation involved in the R&D, production and marketing of textiles products.

But in response to a call for the digital transformation of manufacturers in Nantong, it took the initiative with the planned digital textiles park.

As a result, by employing technologies – such as artificial intelligence, cloud computing and the internet of things – new types of financing, logistics and digital trading systems will be integrated into the home textiles sector.

Furthermore, new business formats for e-commerce and livestreaming will be introduced, as well.
