The market supervision administration of the Tongzhou district of Nantong city – located in East China's Jiangsu province – on April 21 issued incentives for the development, transformation and application of high-value patents and intellectual property rights protection.

Micro, small and medium-sized innovative enterprises that need to pay service fees for securing pledge financing, through the professional IP financial service platform, will get help.

Tongzhou district will grant them a subsidy of 30 percent of the service fees, on the basis that the remaining 70 percent will be given by Nantong city.

Furthermore, the district also rolled out subsidies to encourage its resident enterprises to protect their intellectual property rights through legal means.

Fifty percent of the actual expenditure for rights protection will be disbursed to eligible firms, up to 200,000 yuan ($30,080).
