Hecheng Park in Lyusigang town, Qidong, Nantong, East China's Jiangsu province, reopened to the public on Nov 11 after two months of renovation.

Established in the 1980s, the 100-mu (6.67-hectare) Hecheng Park is the first public garden in Lyusi Park.

The name of Lyusigang town, or Lyusi Port town, came from a legend that says the Taoist immortal Lyu Dongbin flew on a crane to Lyusi four times. Therefore, Lyusi Port town is nicknamed the "town of the crane".

To further take advantage of Lyu Dongbin's fame, local authorities started renovating Hecheng Park in September.

Both sides of the paths in the park now feature glass-enclosed billboards telling the legend of Lyu Dongbin in Lyusigang town, local seafood, salt (which were once used as articles of tribute), and songs sung by fishermen while fishing.

The park's Dongbin Building has been refurnished, with the first floor introducing Lyu Dongbin and the second floor focusing on the connection between Lyu Dongbin culture and traditional Chinese culture.
