Tongzhou district in Nantong, East China's Jiangsu province, has been making efforts to boost innovative development by introducing talent in recent years. 

To date, the district has attracted more than 800 high-profile talents. 

Organizing various innovative competitions is an effort by authorities to attract more talent. 

Last year, Tongzhou held innovative contests in six cities, including Hangzhou, Xi'an, and Chengdu. 

To provide talent with better services, Tongzhou launched a program in 2022 that aims to construct 600,000 square meters of apartments for talent within three years.

The number of apartments for talent in Tongzhou currently stands at 5,544. 

In addition, a housing subsidy of up to 2 million yuan ($291.41 million) has been unveiled to attract high-end talent.

The growing pool of high-profile talent has advanced the innovative development of local enterprises. 

To date, four enterprises in Tongzhou have made the list of national demonstration enterprises for intellectual property.
