A ceremony for the newest painting exhibitions at Nantong Art Museum was held on July 1 to mark the second anniversary of the museum's opening.

The first exhibition showcases 166 works from the Chinese Hundred Jinling Art Exhibitions, including traditional Chinese paintings, oil paintings, and woodblock works, and reviews the development of Chinese painting in modern times.

The second displays 82 woodblock pieces by 60 painters from Jiangsu, which demonstrates Jiangsu woodblock painters' deep thoughts and persistent pursuit of artistic innovation.

Ten artists from the Nantong Artists Association and the Nantong Calligraphers Association were invited to paint and write Chinese calligraphy for visitors at the ceremony.

Since 2021 the Nantong Art Museum has been dedicated to creating a place for local residents to seek spiritual improvement by organizing exhibitions and academic lectures. As of now, the museum has hosted nearly 50 exhibitions and arranged nearly 100 activities, which were attended by more than 400,000 people.
