2 Rugao athletes win gold medals in intl competitions

On Aug 22, good news came from the second U15 World School Summer Games held in Brazil. Dai Shuxin, a 14-year-old athlete from Rugao, a county-level city of Nantong, East China's Jiangsu province, won first place in the women's discus throw with a distance of 46.71 meters.

On the same day, at the East Asian Youth Games held in Mongolia, Ding Zhuhui, a 17-year-old athlete from Rugao, won first place in the women's shot put with a distance of 18.46 meters.

The U15 World School Summer Games is an international sporting event for middle school students aged 13 to 15. It is held every two years and covers 11 sports, including athletics, swimming, basketball, and football. This year, more than 4,000 athletes from 41 countries and regions participated in the games.

The East Asian Youth Games is a regional sporting event for young athletes aged 14 to 18. It is held every four years and covers 13 sports, including athletics, swimming, judo, and taekwondo. This year, more than 2,000 athletes from nine countries and regions participated in the games.
