The container throughput of Rugao Port in Nantong, East China's Jiangsu province, reached 51,030 TEUs in August, an increase of 11.5 percent year-on-year, according to data from the Nantong municipal transportation bureau.

The transportation department of Rugao, a county-level city of Nantong, has taken proactive measures to connect enterprises engaged in the port business with large industrial and commercial enterprises, and continues to tap into its potential to increase local container throughput.
