Since the beginning of this year, Rudong county in Nantong has prioritized new projects to drive advanced production. In the first half of 2024, Rudong signed 84 projects, each valued at over 100 million yuan ($13.78 million), with a total investment of 58 billion yuan. Additionally, construction commenced on 36 new projects that each exceeds 100 million yuan in investment.

Rudong boasts one-tenth of Jiangsu province's coastline and one-eighth of its marine area, along with abundant wind and solar resources. Since its commissioning in 2016, the CGN Rudong 150MW offshore wind farm has produced an annual on-grid electricity output of 405 million kWh, reducing carbon dioxide emissions by approximately 268,000 metric tons annually, according to Xu Chenggen, general manager of CGN's Jiangsu branch.

Building on its successful partnership with Rudong, CGN has chosen the city for its 1,000MW offshore photovoltaic project. This project, with an investment exceeding 6 billion yuan, will pioneer new designs, operations, and integration of marine new energy development with marine space utilization.

Rudong has continuously optimized its services to support project construction. It has streamlined approval processes and offered free end-to-end services. After project initiation, Rudong has formed dedicated service teams to provide one-on-one support, helping enterprises address issues related to labor, energy supply, and funding, while also strengthening water and electricity infrastructure.
