Jilai Microelectronic Co Ltd in Qidong, Jiangsu province, has recently focused on green development.

The company has been a steadfast player in the power semiconductor sector for more than two decades. Its products are widely applied in various fields. However, as the production scale has grown, so too have the challenges of environmental pollution.

"To foster sustainable development, a company must embrace advanced waste-free processes and energy-saving technologies to control pollution at its source, moving away from the outdated practice of merely treating pollutants," said Li Jianxin, chairman of Jilai Microelectronic.

Since 2022, the company has introduced nine energy-saving and emission-reduction initiatives. These include the construction of new photovoltaic power stations, the upgrading of green environmental protection systems, and the automation of production lines.

The total investment exceeded 21 million yuan ($2.86 million), yielding an additional annual economic benefit of over 7.3 million yuan.

Furthermore, the annual savings in electricity, water, and emissions are the equivalent of conserving 366 metric tons of standard coal and reducing carbon dioxide emissions by more than 1,770 tons.

In 2023, Jilai Microelectronic was recognized as a provincial-level green factory.
