Nantong outlines 2025 plan for resident wellbeing

Nantong in East China's Jiangsu province decided on its 20 tasks in 2025 to improve the wellbeing of residents on Jan 16.
Here are some of the highlights.
The city will enhance the capacity of childcare services for infants and toddlers aged 0-3 across the entire city, increasing 4,000 inclusive childcare spaces through new construction and renovation. The city will construct, renovate, and expand nine primary and secondary schools.
Twenty employment service stations will be established citywide, serving 4,000 disadvantaged individuals. No fewer than 4,000 college graduates and other young people will be arranged to participate in employment internships.
The city will establish 15 grassroots rehabilitation therapy centers and open 200 rehabilitation beds, providing rehabilitation services for nearby residents.
It will complete the adaptation of 10,000 households to make them more comfortable to older adults and increase and optimize the curriculum of universities for older people, providing no fewer than 70,000 course spots.
The city will install 400 new elevators and upgrade 600 elevators in existing residential buildings, conduct assessments, and address hidden risks in old residential building elevators.
It will also provide vocational skills training for over 5,000 domestic service personnel, with over 1,000 individuals obtaining professional skill certificates, and offer training for all employees of elderly care service institutions in the city.
