With the Spring Festival holiday just over, several major projects in the Chongchuan Economic Development Zone (CCEDZ) have resumed construction.

Among them is the NTGEC automotive electronics production base, where workers returned on the first working day after the holiday to complete the final stages of interior construction.

The NTGEC production base is a key project, with a total investment of 685 million yuan ($93.98 million) and a land area of 9.13 hectares. Once completed, the facility will have an annual production capacity of 600,000 sets of high- and low-voltage connectors, power battery components, and wiring harness assemblies for new energy vehicles (NEVs).

As one of the first companies listed on the Beijing Stock Exchange, Nantong NTGEC has been actively advancing in the NEV sector. Its self-developed EV charging guns and high-voltage power transmission harnesses are widely used in BAIC's electric vehicles.

"The main structure is complete after a year and a half of construction. We are currently in the interior finishing and equipment installation phase," said Xu Cheng, project manager of the NTGEC production base. "Our goal is to begin production by the end of March."

Xu added that the project will establish a modern smart factory, which is expected to generate 10 billion yuan in annual output and over 50 million yuan in tax revenue while creating nearly 2,000 jobs. The facility will contribute significantly to local economic growth and social development in CCEDZ.
