Tongzhou district in Nantong, Jiangsu province, has been continuously optimizing its business environment and achieving remarkable success in attracting investment.

In 2024, 28 major new projects within the district began construction, including 12 high-quality manufacturing projects in specialized and advanced industries. Tongzhou has also maintained its ranking as one of China's top 100 districts for comprehensive strength and top 100 districts for investment potential.

One of the standout projects is Jiangsu Youzhong Micro-Nano Semiconductor Technology Co Ltd in the Nantong Semiconductor Optoelectronic Industrial Park. The company, which relocated from Zhejiang, was drawn to Tongzhou for its complete semiconductor industry chain and efficient service, which promotes a seamless business experience.

"The industrial park's specialized support, such as handling hazardous chemicals and heavy wastewater, allows us to focus on core R&D," said Li Ning, general manager of Youzhong Micro-Nano Semiconductor.

The Nantong Semiconductor Optoelectronic Industrial Park plays a crucial role in Tongzhou's strategy for developing the new-generation information industry. The park is designed to streamline operations for companies, including designated storage areas for special gases and hazardous chemicals, which improve production efficiency and reduce costs. A wastewater treatment station was also established in the park to collect and treat heavy wastewater from businesses, ensuring smooth and safe operation of the production lines.

Policy support is another key factor in the district's success. In 2024, Tongzhou implemented 312 "immediate enjoyment" projects, offering 26.64 million yuan ($3.67 million) in benefits. The district also provided tax reductions and rebates totaling 407 million yuan, issued social insurance subsidies to 13 small and micro businesses, and offered recruitment incentives of 6.09 million yuan in the same year.

The "immediate enjoyment" service allows companies to automatically receive benefits based on policy criteria without needing to submit an application, ensuring faster and more efficient policy implementation.
