By leveraging advanced production techniques and offering a diverse product range, Huajia has become a key supplier for several globally recognized apparel brands.
Rugao businesses have been actively participating in major international trade fairs, such as the Canton Fair and the China International Import Expo, showcasing new products, attracting investment, and exploring trade opportunities. In 2024, 62 companies from Rugao participated in the 135th and 136th sessions of the Canton Fair.
In recent years, Rugao has capitalized on the opportunities presented by cross-border e-commerce, implementing supporting policies to foster business growth in the sector. For instance, Mlily a leading local brand, achieved impressive sales during the "Black Friday" shopping festival on Amazon and Walmart, with its popular pillows and foam camping mattresses ranking among top sellers among international customers.
Rugao Port continues to play a critical role in the city's growth, operating 32 weekly shipping routes and attracting over 30 shipping companies, including Maersk and Mediterranean Shipping Company. In 2023, the Port handled a total of 86.8 million metric tons of cargo and 630,000 TEUs of containers, with 11 percent dedicated to foreign trade.
