"This year's Government Work Report is a pragmatic, confidence-boosting, and inspiring document," said Liu Fan, a National People's Congress deputy from Nantong.

Liu also works as director of the Orthopedic Clinical Research Center at the Affiliated Hospital of Nantong University.

"As a representative from the medical field, my focus lies in improving people's livelihoods, particularly in enhancing basic medical services for the public," emphasized Liu.

The report mentioned improving patients' healthcare experiences, ward conditions, and patient-centered care. Further efforts are needed to expand and balance the distribution of high-quality medical resources and enhance the construction of professional teams in nursing, pediatrics, pathology, and geriatric medicine.

He noted that the six medical insurance reform measures outlined in the report are closely related to every citizen. These include strengthening provincial-level medical insurance coordination, establishing a traceability system for drugs and consumables, and strictly regulating funds.

"It is noteworthy that in 2025, the per capita fiscal subsidies for residents' medical insurance and basic public health service funds will increase by an additional 30 yuan ($4.14) and 5 yuan, respectively. This achievement underscores the central authorities' deep care for all citizens," Liu said.
