Founded in 1894 by renowned Chinese industrialist Zhang Jian (1853-1926), the Yisheng Distillery has long been a guardian of intangible cultural heritage with its Yisheng Liquor cherished by generations in Nantong. In 1906, Yisheng Liquor achieved international acclaim by winning the gold medal at the Panama-Pacific International Exposition, making it the first Chinese alcoholic beverage to receive such a prestigious award.
