Li Taosi, who works a plot in the Happy Farm located in Haihong community – in the Chongchuan Economic Development Zone or CCEDZ, located in Nantong city in East China's Jiangsu province – is a kind soul.

He donated vegetables harvested from his land to an 83-year-old resident with a disability and to two other households suffering from hardship in the community on July 12.

It is reported that more than 10 others working plots at the Happy Farm will also donate their harvested vegetables to the poor in Haihong community.

Taking the saying "sowing seeds, reaping happiness" as its principle, the Happy Farm aims to enable its participants to cherish their current life through experiencing the toil of labor.

A total of 40 plots in the farm are available for citizens to work. The farm provides a card, vegetable seeds, organic fertilizers, water as well as essential tools to the participants at a low cost.

After the vegetables are picked, they can share the organic products with their families or donate part of the harvest to the disabled and poor families.
