Chongchuan thrives in developing strategic emerging industries

Chongchuan district in Nantong, Jiangsu province has been developing six strategic emerging industries.

Among them is the life and health industry, which has attracted nearly 100 companies, leading to the emergence of four potential unicorns at the provincial level and the rapid rise of a billion-dollar industrial cluster.

Additionally, the district's new generation information technology industry has gathered over 100 medium and large-sized enterprises, with a total output value of 40 billion yuan.

Since last year, development promotion associations have been established for the life and health industry and the new generation information technology industry in Chongchuan. The establishment of these associations has prompted government departments to step up visits to enterprises, further facilitating communication and collaboration between the public and private sectors.

Zhang Juan, vice-chairman of the Chongchuan federation of industry and commerce, mentioned that most companies along the industrial chain have become members of the associations. These associations regularly organize government-enterprise exchange meetings and industry seminars. Relevant government departments will also be invited to participate in these activities to better understand the demands of member units and provide them with services.

Zhang stated that since the establishment of the industrial chain promotion associations, not only have local companies within the same industry joined, but some local universities and research institutions have also been included. The goal is to further promote industry-academia-research cooperation and facilitate talent and technology exchanges and collaborations among enterprises.

In July this year, led by the Chongchuan life and health industrial chain development promotion association, a group of member units will visit Singapore to expand the market for Chongchuan medical devices in Southeast Asia.

Through the support of the promotion associations, member units are encouraged to develop together and achieve win-win cooperation.

"Moving forward, we will strive to achieve full coverage of the six major industries through the promotion associations, guiding member units to share resources and improve quality and quantity, further energizing the development of the industrial chain," said Zhang.
