Rugao – the county-level city administered by Nantong in East China's Jiangsu province – made it onto the list of China's Top 100 Counties (County-level Cities) in Industry and onto the list for China's Top 100 Counties (County-level Cities) in Innovation, which were announced by the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology on Nov 13.

Rugao ranked 28th and 24th on the industry list and innovation list, respectively, according to local officials.

In the first 10 months of the current year, Rugao has signed 116 new projects worth over 100 million yuan ($15.24 million) each, with a total investment of over 100 billion yuan, according to official data.
