Companies in NHIZ resume production after holiday
With the Chinese New Year holiday ending, many companies in the Nantong National High-tech Industrial Development Zone (NHIZ) have already resumed operations.
Nantong Nkoda Polyurethane Technology Co Ltd, a leading automotive paint protection film manufacturer, kept over 50 workers on duty throughout the holiday to ensure continuous production. The company's output has steadily increased in recent years. "In 2024, our production grew by around 10 percent year-on-year, and we expect even stronger growth in 2025," said Hu Haitao, general manager of Nkoda's Nantong plant.
Another company, Aptiv Connector Systems (Nantong) Co Ltd, also remained operational during the holiday. A subsidiary of Aptiv Group, the Nantong-based plant specializes in developing and manufacturing automotive airbag connectors and wiring harnesses.
"In 2024, our sales increased by more than 10 percent compared to the previous year, and our current orders are already scheduled two months in advance," said company representative Xiong Feng. To ensure timely deliveries, the company implemented various incentives to retain 80 percent of its workforce during the holiday period, allowing for uninterrupted production.
