NHIZ student wins second place in global AI championship
The ENJOY AI 2025 Global Final was recently held in Wuzhen town, Zhejiang province, with nearly 60,000 teenagers from 61 countries and regions competing.
Zhang Shuhan, a fifth-grade student from the Primary School of Nantong National High-tech Industrial Development Zone (NHIZ), won second place globally in the "Leap into Space" aerial control challenge with an outstanding time of 49 seconds, narrowly missing the top spot by just one second.
ENJOY AI is a global youth technology activity hosted by the Federation of Global Youth Artificial Intelligence. The "Leap into Space" challenge integrates aerospace technology with competitive sports, requiring participants to master drone piloting skills while testing their spatial awareness, emergency response, and independent decision-making abilities.
This achievement stems from the school's technology education ecosystem. Zhang joined his school's model aircraft club in first grade and trained consistently after school, progressing through municipal, provincial, and national competitions.
The school, with technology as its core educational feature, has independently developed a series of school-based textbooks on drones, robotics, and more. It also offers clubs and creates dedicated training spaces.
Over the past three years, students from the school have won 658 provincial and municipal-level awards. Zhu Shuiping, the principle of the school said that they will continue to promote immersive technology education, pilot new models of human-machine collaborative learning, and provide a platform for students to realize their potential in scientific innovation.
