NETDA launches construction of major projects

A slew of major projects recently started construction in the Nantong Economic & Technological Development Area, or NETDA – located in the prefecture-level city of Nantong, in East China's Jiangsu province – according to local media reports on June 11.

From May to June, the NETDA started on five projects costing over 100 million yuan ($15.55 million) each, with a total investment of about 8.48 billion yuan. These included three major projects costing more than 1 billion yuan each, with a total investment of 8 billion yuan.

Another seven major projects are expected to break ground in June, costing more than 1 billion yuan each, with a total investment of about 13 billion yuan.

Biotheus biomedicine plant

Among the projects that have broken ground is a production plant and support facilities costing 5 billion yuan being built by Biotheus Biotechnology Co Ltd. It will have an annual output of 10 million antibody drugs, cell therapy kits and other innovative biomedicines.

After completion, the annual output value is expected to be 5 billion yuan, while the annual tax revenue will be around 300 million yuan. Currently, the first phase of the project is involved in the construction of pile foundations.

Luohua new display chip plant

This project, with a total investment of 1 billion yuan, is being constructed by Jiangsu Luohua New Materials Co Ltd and will cover a 33,333-square-meter site, with a construction area of 50,000 square meters.

It involves the MiniLed and MicroLed production plants, which will generate total annual operating income of 900 million yuan and tax revenue 54 million yuan. The project is currently at the foundation construction stage.

Liando U Valley industrial complex

The Liando U Valley industrial complex will be located in the development zone's core area, covering an 87,000 sq m site and involve a total construction area of 100,000 sq m.

With a total investment of 2 billion yuan, the Liando U Valley Urban Industrial Complex is being developed by Beijing Liando Group. The project involves construction of an urban industrial complex park.

This will be dominated by the new generation of information technology industry and high-end intelligent equipment industry, with an annual output value of 1 billion yuan and tax revenue of 45 million yuan. The project is currently at the pile foundation stage.

The park is reportedly set to be home to a new generation of information technology, high-end equipment industry and other leading industries.
